I hate when people only like something because it is either cool or in the main-stream. I am not sitting here saying no one should like certain things because that would daft but it annoys me a little. My friends and I have always been big geeks when it comes to comics or the old cartoons. It’s something a few of us like a tad too much and are still interested in. For example, I read or have read a lot of comics in the past, a few being the big blockbuster Marvel comics like; X-Men, Spiderman, The Avengers and loads more that have still not been in the cinema. This was because in High School one of my old English teachers would bring me in some of his comics he had kicking around and I would sit reading them on a Friday when I was in 3rd year. I don’t know how many conversations me and this guy had, it was amazing. Then also the cartoons I grew up with them all. But now because of all these blockbuster films (which I am not hating on because I love them too) were made then everyone and their granny got excited about them. But that’s not the problem it was the people who had never read a comic book in their life and who had never even known they were cartoons in the past. These people were only excited because it was a blockbuster film and that it was “cool” to like them. 

This annoys me so much because I know deep down that the majority (and I am aware that this isn’t everyone) but only liked them because of all the wrong reasons. I am not sitting here saying “oh I love every comic and I am the biggest fan” all I am trying to say is, the ones I have been excited about was because I have read them and also because I use to love the cartoons. I will even give an example of two that I didn’t like the comic book or the cartoon and after seeing the film my opinion still didn’t change. These being Thor and Iron-man the concept of the two are poor and I never liked the cartoon or comics. That’s just to prove I am not trying to act like I know it all and love everything by Marvel. I just had to make this point clear because it is something that has and always will annoy, especially being a Marvel comic book fan. I am sure there will be other people out there who will agree.
