Good day today~

Had a really nice day filled with confidence boosting, positivity, good news and exciting plans ahead of me.

So to start off the day I had a driving lesson. Last week went well but it was only my second lesson so I was still a bit on edge. Today I done SO well, at times I was sitting back thinking “how the hell am I doing this?” because I wasn’t struggling as much as I did last week. My driving instructor told me “it’s like night and day how different you were today, I can tell you are a natural driver and can see you improving for the best every week.” So that was such a nice thing to hear after feeling deflated after last weeks lesson.

I then came home to find out my Dad had bought us tickets to go see ‘The Specials’ in May and that he is going to be buying us tickets tomorrow morning to go see ‘My Bloody Valentine’ in March. So that’s two plans I have that are really exciting to start off the New Year.

Later on, I relaxed in bed watching Doctor Who but at the last minute decided to write out all of my friends, family and tumblr friends christmas cards. So going to be sending them off tomorrow. So even although I have been in pain I have been side tracked with positivity. Now I plan on going for a shower, putting on some candles, to then relax watching more Doctor Who in bed with a cup of tea and probably have an early night since I am going to the opticians early afternoon.

Probably one of the best playlists I have made, filled with loads of my favourite shoegazing, misc, indie rock bands!

Music Rant~

Music these days is starting to make me very violent. I am an open music snob, my expectations are high and I know my music is odd to most people around me so I don’t expect everyone to love it because that would be asking too much. Plus we are all entitled to our own opinion at the end of the day, so this is in no a way a diss to people.

However, I was having a conversation with my Dad this afternoon (another music snob) and we were talking about how music use to be soulful, meaningful, intelligent and just beautiful. The bands we were talking about were My Bloody Valentine, most Rockabilly or Mo-Town music from the 1950s-60s, The Smiths and so on (far too many to name but you get the idea). This is what I call music, it’s something that the band themselves wrote and knew people could relate to. It’s something that is simply amazing.

But these days music consists of lyrics which make no sense and someone else writing the songs for R&B and Pop “musicians” rather than it coming from the artist themselves. Someone I utterly despise with a passion is Nicki Minaj and this post is mainly forward to her lack of talent. If you read the lyrics they make no sense. It’s just random words that are suppose to “rhyme” together played along with an ok beat? Why people buy her stuff is beyond me. Yeah she is ok (saying ok under clenched teeth) at singing but nothing special, probably why half her music is auto-tuned to fuck. Nicki Minaj you are shit, you can’t make music and you look like you have put super glue on the floor, rolled around in random, clashing, coloured items and just shopped at any old tacky shop. I wouldn’t mind if she dressed liked this and her music being good because I could tolerate it but nothing she does is good lmao.

Rather than people going out and just listening to music that is handed to them on a plate… why not actually venture out of the main stream and listen to real music with soul… the public these days are just too lazy and this annoys me.

H8 chart music for life.
